Our directors have over five years of experience with tournaments as large as 140 people. We use the rules set down by the Tournament Directors Association and are certified to run and operate poker tournaments for charity events, conferences, business retreats, or just for fun. The benefits of a well-run poker tournament include:
- More playing, less admin – Most self-organized tournaments spend way too much time discussing and enforcing rules, figuring out blinds and lengths of levels, balancing tables, and dealing with the other administrative aspects of a poker tournament. Let us handle the admin, so you can spend less time with the details and more time playing poker!
- Designing a structure and staying on schedule – We structure the tournament to last long enough for good poker play, without taking the entire night. It’s just as frustrating to be forced to play for all your chips in 20 minutes as it is to still be playing six hours later.
- Enforcing rules – It’s tough to penalize your friends. The problem is, if you don’t enforce the rules, someone always leaves upset. Bringing in a pro legitimizes the tournament, and provides an expectation that certain standards will be met. We use the same rules as in the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour (or, if desired, modified rules may be clarified ahead of time), so everyone knows where they stand and how to play.
- Lessons for novices – Have newcomers come an hour early to learn how to play and to practice before the tournament starts.
We bring in all the equipment, set it up, run the tournament, and leave an impeccable space behind us. You just provide the place, the players, and the prize.
